Recently I received a forward in email regarding an interesting fact about india’s Nehru family, one of the strongest and most influential family in India.

Though I cannot verify if the above mentioned is correct, but it is interesting to learn that though the family members where of hindus 2 generations before, slowly they were converted to Muslims and Christains and in the present generation there is no hindu in their family..strange how secularism can spread.

Pandit Nehru (Jawarhlal nehru) marries Kamala Nehru which results in the birth of Indira Nehru (Indira Gandhi) who was a hindu at the time of birth. She gets married to Feroz Khan, a muslim , but before marriage she converts to Muslim. Feroz Khan later changes his surname to Gandhi, upon recommendation of Mahatma Gandhi, the net result, political gain and have the gandhi name in indian politics. But as you may be surprised to know, rajeev gandhi and sanjeev (sanjay) gandhi were muslims. Sanjay gandhi got married to menaka gandhi, who is a hindu , and rajeev gandhi converted to christian before marrying Sania Maino, later became Sonia Gandhi. The outcome Raul (Rahul Gandhi) and Bianca (Priyanka Gandhi) both catholic.

The information mentioned in above chart is not very correct. Gangadhar (Father of Moti Lal Nehru) was not a Hindu. He was muslim and his original name was Gyasuddin Ghazi. He is the Nagar Kotwal in Mugal emperor Aurangzeb’s Regime. He converted to Hindu later (as Gangadhar) while escaping from Delhi to Agra to save himself from British Army.
